I am very excited to announce our January Spotlight, Molly Correll. Molly works with both a virtual and a rural school. Her schools report that she is proactive and works well with parents when establishing and targeting student goals. When supervising Molly I have seen her individualize her therapy sessions to really meet the needs of each student as she works for that academic carryover that all school therapists strive to get. Let’s get to know Molly better!

What made you want to become a speech therapist?
Growing up I remember my cousin receiving speech therapy services and saw first-hand the gains he made. I remember thinking what an amazing and rewarding job that would be to assist someone in the area of communication. Our communication skills are truly part of our identity, so to be able to positively impact that area of someone’s life seemed very fulfilling to me.
2. What made you want to join the DotCom Therapy team?
The concept behind teletherapy, and specifically DotCom Therapy’s mission to make therapy services available to everyone, everywhere, really struck me. Students that had not been able to receive services before for various reasons, are now able to do so. You feel like you’re doing something for the greater good. That’s what therapy is at its core and why I got into this profession in the first place. It’s an amazing feeling to know you are making a difference. In addition to that, the DCT staff was so welcoming and knowledgeable, I immediately felt at home!
3. What has been your favorite thing about teletherapy?
There are so many! One of my favorite things about teletherapy is that I get to meet students and families from across the country while doing what I love. I also really enjoy the camaraderie of our DCT family. Despite being across the country, the DCT team is close knit and always in contact with each other. Oh and wearing yoga pants to work is pretty nice too!
4.) Fill in the blank. When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me….
You’ll most likely find me running, playing volleyball, reading a good book, or spending time with my fiancé, family and friends!
Thank you to Molly for being such an amazing member of our DotCom Family and for the services you’re providing to your students.
